Our History
Pall Spera, Staige Davis and Buff McLaughry were each among the founding board members of Sotheby’s International Realty. They understand the luxury market and they understand the value of an alliance of luxury firms working together under the umbrella of the well-established brand: Lion & Davis. They also understand the need for specialized, personalized and differentiated service dedicated exclusively to the luxury market.
Lion & Davis, formerly Lang, Lion & Davis, was established in 2000 with the intent and the desire to provide both buyers and sellers with the superior services required for marketing distinctive, historical and architecturally unique properties throughout Northwestern Vermont. With the sale of Sotheby’s in 2004 and with its separation from the art and auction house, plus its new shift of focus away from fine property, Lion & Davis did not renew its affiliation with Sotheby’s, but continued to establish its own brand and to command over 70% of the market share of million dollar properties in Northwestern Vermont.
In January of 2007, Pall Spera, Staige Davis and Buff McLaughry merged their companies to become the largest real estate brokerage firm in Northern New England: Lang McLaughry Spera. Each of the original firms - Lang Associates, Pall Spera Company and McLaughry Associates - commanded the luxury market in their respective regions. In 2007, Lion & Davis was established as a separate entity for the sole purpose of affiliating with other independent brokerage firms in New England to market their collection of fine properties. |
